Nights in Black Jammies with M.J.

OK, OK, DO NOT GET USED TO THIS! All this tons of jpgs, in progress stuff is not going to last! Anyway, enjoy it while it lasts...

Here's something Chris did for the Heroes Con program a few years ago. It printed black and white there, but Dusty and Casey liked it so much they asked to use the color version to promote the show last year when they thought it would tie in nicely with the Spidermang 3 movie.
The perspective on that Clinique logo isn't quite right is it? Ah well, can't win 'em all.

SNIKT! THWIPP! BAM!

Does it show how much fun these were to work on? The comic that hooked me on comics was Amazing Spider Man #299, Spidey was in the black costume, Mary Jane was pushing the limits of good taste, and Todd McFarlane was about to go super-nova. Up til then I'd been a Superman nut (Christopher Reeve, R.I.P.), cape on 24/7. This was the comic that transformed regular kid fun into the deepest of addictions. I swear I copied every McFarlane money shot, and I swear that guy makes sound effects while he draws! Working on these took me back. Missed my old drawing buddies from grade school: Donny Hotaling, Dalton Adams, Joe Brandt, local legends with mad natural facility. Some of my favorite artists stopped drawing before their true powers were revealed.....go listen to "The Late Greats" by Wilco, they'll tell you all about it.

Yes, Rico and the jams will be back! These were done for my former 9 to 5 day job, from time to time solo work from either of us may creep in, but all new jams will be just that. Leaving for Georgia on the 6th to speak at the Comics Art Forum at SCAD, Rico will be bringing it while I'm away.

P.S. Joe Q- Nick Fury and the Thing had to stop smoking, totally fair. Can you make an exception for Wolverine? Healing Factor? Please? Much Respect.
